Ricky Ponting's ultimate new accessory

And no, not his new hair.

My mum was watching the cricket at 4 this morning and made this observation:

Ricky Ponting is wearing a new hat.

I'm not talking about those blue things, I'm talking about the real deal.

Ricky Ponting has a new Baggy Green.

Check it out...

Before...
Oh look, holding a trophy. Another one for the cabinet.

After.

Shiny and new.

I wonder where his old one is. I would quite like to have it.

EDIT: Stuart MacGill's also looks pretty new. But I think maybe it just hasn't been worn much.

Maybe Mrs Ponting just whipped out the Nappysan ...

She could have, but I'm not sure even Nappysan could have restored such a brilliant green.

The pictures don't really do it justice... it has to be seen in action.

I am quite heartened to see someone actually replace their cap. Forcing us to look at the various sweat tide-marks that their baggy green has acquired is a little, well, old hat.

Incidentally, the cap he wore during the toss looks like his old one.

I disagree with you Miriam, I reckon the tide marks on the Baggy Green are like a badge of honour, it shows the battles endured, fought and won. Especially those against the Poms!
