The tensions engulfing camp England have finally boiled over, and both captain and coach have walked out the door.
Whether or not he'd left of his own accord Pietersen would not have been allowed to stay on as captain. Cricketers must be subservient and not comment when they're uber-shitted off, it's just how it is. Just by saying "him or me" it was never going to be him.
Personally I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to Ponting and Pietersen squaring off.
And I bet Vaughan's wishing he'd pushed himself a bit harder these last few months.
It also seems to me like the tide is turning, and where last week observers were on KP's side, they now feel Moore's has been treated poorly; KP has betrayed his trust and this has all been most uncalled for.
Wow. Hissy fits. Cricket really does provide everything.
Ian Bell, anyone?

Ian Bell would be the idea candidate. His form couldn't dip if he tried (and he has been trying)...
What is really impressive is that KP has managed to get himself and Moores sacked whilst being on holiday! Just think of the carnage he could cause if he was there...
Fools.
Vote one more for Ian Bell
Of course we are missing the obvious candidate: 'big' Steve Harmison. An inspiration to us all.
They could always try recruiting another Saffer as a cap'n... bet Grayeme would sort them out. Send em all out to bat with injuries (crazy, but way cool, btw) and toughen up a bit.
Alternatively, bring back Darren Pattinson. He didn't have time to form cliques with anyone so could always claim to be above all the politics. And it continues the foreign captain theme.
I do love cricket... what a day!!
PS failing all that, of course it should be Belly.
Now listen here - Big Steve has got more get up and go than that twit Strauss.
Steve may only be able to bowl once he has walked out of the Durham dressing room - but he is his own man, and he does like winning [honest gov!]. If Harmy is crap - he is hilariously crap - no half measures. When Strauss is crap - you won't have noticed cos you will have dropped off into the land of slumber.
I'm ignoring Mr Puniverse - he just should not exist.
I do love this blog!!! One would hope that KP is humbled by this...still its just a hope... and I do love Ian Bell....for many reasons...he is certainly one of the most controversial England Players....but he's not ready to captain the team.
